(Hmm - just noticed that replies go to the person, not the list. Seems
awkward.)

Interesting idea, and a not uncommon one. Separation of powers, and
assistance to those who are not familiar with Robert's Rules, either because
of culture or inexperience.

Are two chairs and a parliamentarian overkill for a small working group?
Perhaps for some, but I would suggest that this one is unique, and that we
could perhaps perform a test on ourselves.

A possible solution might be to appoint someone, other than the Chair, as
the parliamentarian. This would place the burden of becoming familiar
with Roberts' Rules on only one person and could provide the added
benefit of an additional check against a runaway Chair.
