With regards to your request to the Chair to determine the voting system: a
good question, but also one that can cause delays.
If no contrary answer comes forth within 24 hours, I propose to go ahead
with a system that gives the co-Chair seat to the candidate with the most
votes,( and a voting system that allows the voters to give multiple votes,
so that there is no competition between preferred candidates) and a runoff
only when 2 candidates poll equally.
Your concern is that we will end up with a Chair who represents a 'minority
" opinion. The above system should take care of that.
My concern is that we end up with a Chair who is does not have the time to
do the utmost to get order into the chaos here.
The co-Chair should not take part in partisan debates, but should work hard
on formulating the texts that the WG can vote (agree) on.
