I'm happy to accept my nomination.
I see the major role of the co-chair to be working with Miss Park in
extracting from the list specific proposals and presenting them in
such a way as to be able to gain consensus on them, and then taking
the individual proposals together into a full report which will have
consensus or at least a clear majority support behind it. This of
course mandates putting aside my own preferences.
My internet background is on the policy side having been involved with
Internet Society of NZ which controls *.nz and also having had a role
within the Government on internet issues.
I was employed in the private office of the Prime Minister which was a
role where one had to work with many persons of varying beliefs and
try and gain consensus on controversial issues. I now work in the
office of the Leader of the Opposition (ie we had a general election
and we lost :-)
