[wg-review] 11. IDNH Centers of Interest
Just what we need -
another thread...lol.
Seriously, I seek consensual support and input to add this as high
priority for IDNH constituency :-
Would it be a good idea to include to identify the *pitfalls* of the DNS
system as well as the "business" opportunities for
members?
I traced 26 hackers in the last 10 days trying to get into my PC, and
some using the TCP port 53 used by DNS. Most individuals have no idea this is
going on and their PCs are wide open. Would it be of interest to ask those
responsible for these programs and services to explain how best to counteract
the threats and how the DNS system can evolve to reduce the
risks?
1. This is
appropriate for DNSO (General technical Interest)
2. Some members do not understand DNS and systems enough to fully grasp it. 3. This kind of issue
is an alert to the BoD. A report and proposition would be done which may lead to
a request to IEFT?
4. According to the
bylaws, this is exactly what the BoD expects from the DNSO and what the DNSO
absolutely has not been delivering.
4. Now, if it is of real interest as an example, we could make it a case and have the real ICANN to look at it... A repository for
other Centers of Interest for IDNH has been set up at http://www.indh.org/wgr11.htm.
