Not that I take issue with what you say Mr. Burton, however I suggest that
reality is very much a matter of perception, and so it is perception as much as
the historical and structural reality which must be fixed. Only in the truly
moral sense is a good deed which is not credited worth any thing at all. This
is "outreach" - marketing.
One of the problems facing ICANN is that the internet came from engineers and
engineers are generally interested in facts and opinions are not a real focus.
In governance, we are generally interested in opinions and facts are not the
real focus.
That is why the rancor which often shows its ugly head here should not just be
dismissed inappropriate. It should be noted as a fact and addressed as an
issue.
