1.  To prevent malicious activity where a voter votes more than once on
a given subject.

2.  The WG can better trust, understand and communicate with each other
when voters are identified and it is known who influenced  (and why
through their comments) the direction of the WG.

Secret polling through such a small vocal group appears wrong and
defeats the WG's purpose.
