RE: [wg-review] Education & Outreach and Languages

I hate the idea of the ugly American. The language of a region is the
best key to understanding, and enjoying it's culture. In translation
way to much is lost. I am afraid that the internet is historically a
result of american culture and therefor translating it loses to much of
it's essence.

Any aid in developing this logic or illogic will be appreciated.

- Eric,
If it's any help, please remember that English is spoken in more places in
the world than America and not all of them are ugly. There is a diverse
culture in each of these. The language of ICANN has no bearing on anybody's
ability to publish cultural content in any language. The relevance of an
English Language Only policy bears upon the ICW's ability to participate in
the ICANN process and it seems your South-East Asia guys would have no
problem. Of course, the same may not apply to other countries, but your
logic confuses apples with oranges..

Joanna
