[wg-review] Travel funding for the coming ICANN meeting
Just received this from the Salzburg Seminar (Markle and Ford Foundations)to
one of the ICANN lists:
key excerpt:
>We write to announce the Salzburg Seminar's ICANN Travel Support Project is
>again accepting applications. The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names
>and Numbers is the organization responsible for important internet
>policymaking including which companies can sell domain names registrations,
>what those domain names will be, and means for settlement of trademark
>disputes over domain names. The Project underwrites the travel and
>accommodation expenses to attend ICANN's international meetings. To apply
>you, or your organization, must be a member of the ICANN's 'Non-Commercial
>Domain Name Holders Constituency'.
My applications to get support for representatives for the Individuals have
always been rejected on this formal ground.
The GA Chair gets travel support because he belongs to the NCDNHC.
If we are going to make resolutions, we might as well cover this..
