[wg-review] White Paper & Individuals
The White Paper http://www.icann.org/general/white-paper-05jun98.htm
states:
"The Board of Directors for the new corporation should be balanced to
equitably represent the interests of IP number registries, domain name
registries, domain name registrars, the technical community, Internet
service providers (ISPs), and Internet users (commercial, not-for-profit,
and individuals) from around the world. Since these constituencies are
international, we would expect the board of directors to be broadly
representative of the global Internet community."
Proponents for an Individuals' Constituency could well argue that we could
also expect the DNSO to be broadly representative, and that in keeping with
the spirit of the White Paper (that specifically mentions individuals),
there should be a special place at the table for an individuals'
constituency.
