Erica, under item (1) below, i am referring to general costs of the DNSO.
I believe the only "request" passed along was for a one time sum of $
100,000 as a start up contribution to the "voluntary fund" of the DNSO.
Also, I noticed that when that request was passed, it was for a "granty",
not expressed as a possibility of a "start-up loan".
Perhaps it might not have been refused if couched as a "loan".
After all, ICANN itself got such loans, from Cisco Corp and others.

Given that the NC has written to ICANN requesting funding of $100k to
support DNSO activities, I am surprised by Peter's comment (below) that this
request has not been passed to the Budget committee. Perhaps this is
something we should address at our next meeting and with ICANN staff and
Board members..
