To the Names Council:

The Protocol Council has adopted the following response to the Names
Council's Whois study, encouraging PSO members to share their expertise
in the domain-name registration system by replying to the Whois survey
being conducted by the Names Council.  The Names Council Whois committee
has decided to extend the Whois survey deadline from 31 July to 14
August and a notice will go out to this effect shortly.

To ICANN Secretary:

The PSO-PC has thoughtfully addressed the Names Council resolution on
the
assessment of Whois system and development of policy recommendations.

The PSO has no need for technical comments but encouraged its members,
as
users, to reply to the survey conducted by the Names Council
(http://www.icann.org/dnso/whois-survey-en-10jun01.htm) and share their
expertise in the domain-name registration system.
