RE: [council] voting for board member -- procedures and when

Vany, I really can't support voting at the ICANN meeting. I think that there
are just too many serious issues which the NC has to be focused on. The
registrar transfer issue; a status report on the WHOIS and thinking about
next steps; the .org working group report, which I think is of critical
importance. I know that folks often think of me as merely commercial. One
interesting fact which you might find interesting is that of our customers,
a very significant percent are non profits, universities, libraries, etc.

So, being customer focused, even as a commercial players, we have to think
about their input. I expect we will hear more from them through Milton's
working group and through additional efforts at outreach.

I continue to think that the issues related to multi lingual names are of
critical importance and that we must as a NC provide all the support we can
to how to ensure progress in this essential area.

The issues and report from the At Large Committee deserve significant
attention from each constituency, and then from us as a NC.

... I continue to urge that the vote be taken before Montevideo, and that
the NC work on its very full and critical agenda items.

Hi to all:

I have an idea:

1. That ballot be generated and sent no later than September 2, in order
that everybody have their ballots before begin to travel to Montevideo.
2. Open voting on September 9, as Peter sugested
3. Since there are Internet conectivity facilities setted up in the
venue of ICANN meeting in Montevideo, then setup aside a time on
September 9 and September 10, to make the voting by e-mail, for those
attending this meeting.

What do you think?

Best Regards
Vany
