I remember a day not long past when Joe Baptista was making up obscene
limricks and posting them to the list. Relative to that, the GA has
indeed been "turned around".

That is not its function. It was explicitly never intended to be a
decision making body. There are some who think that is what it should
be, but that is not what it is.

It has a role; it's just not the role you want it to have.
