I "represent" this country (the U.S.), as you put it, but most certainly do not
subscribe to the market model of William X. Walsh, but on this point will
adopt the EU view. In very broad strokes, I see nothing wrong with Joanna's
generalization as to a "UK" and a "US" view, so long as it is understood ("as
any fool can plainly see," as the saying goes) that there are similarly no doubt
many UK (or EU) citizens that would favor the "US view."

Point is, though, that this discussion has no point. No one is lobbing shots
across "the pond" here at all, but simply using a useable shorthand.

(Very excitable people in this place, methinks!)
