It's technically possible that the list of members' registered email
addresses is used to check posting rights to the list, rather than the
subscriber address.
To me, this would make sense; then, any member could post to the list, but
could read from the list by mail, archive browsing or any other method he
prefers.
But it's far from certain that the current crop of list subscribers is what
would become members come April.
