Thank you Philip!
I feel that you are talking about "alternate roots".
I am not talking about alternate roots. I am talking
about TLDs not aprooved by ICANN which are a
masquerading of an actual TLD (or SLD). For example,
if a company wants to offer .TRAVEL, what they will do
is masquerade .TRAVEL.COM.
This is different than alternate roots.
I think is an important subject to be considered by
constituencies and NC, at least in order to develop a
position about such practice which, in my personal
opinion is lessive to the customer since no one knows
if the registration of a domain inside such a TLD have
a legal validity, or if UDRP can really be applied to
it, or if Bussiness Constituency can watch the rights
of a company with a domain name XYZ.TRAVEL because for
ICANN this doesn't exists and maybe as such it cannot
be admited (or yes?)...and other issues.
I hope this clarify what kind of subject am I talking
about.
Best Regards
Vany
