[registrars] Budget Committee statement
Greetings all:
My position is very simple. Registrars should not be cut out of the payment
loop. ICANN should be directly accountable to its "taxpayers", among which
the registrars are prominent. Any other solution leaves us paying through
registries and having no influence, which seems like a very bad idea. Never
underestimate the power of bad ideas, however.
If elected I will serve the short term that remains before the ICANN meeting
in Sweden. Whether on or off the budget committee, I shall work for
effective representation of the registrars group within ICANN and the DNSO.
I hope to see some of you in Stockholm.
Have a safe trip.

Subject: [registrars] Suggestion
It has been proposed that the candidates be able to express why they are the
right candidate, via email or a teleconference.
I agree that this is a good idea, and would encourage candidates to post
their statements to the mailing list. With regard to a teleconference, I
have no objection but the constituency does not have the funds to host a
teleconference.
