[registrars] Litigation Update

I have been informed that some of the defendants in the California class
action lawsuit have been served, including at least one registrar. According
to my understanding of California civil procedure, these defendants have 30
days (approximately until mid September) to file an answer. According to the
docket information provided below, plaintiffs filed a motion for a
preliminary injunction on 8/21/01.

In the past, some registrars have discussed the idea of creating a joint
defense. If you are interested in this idea, you can contact me privately
and I will attempt to put these registrars in contact with one another so
that you can discuss this matter privately.
