I'm unaware that anyone else actually faxed a ballot in the closing hours
of the pre-WDC balloting period, pursuant to the instructions of one, or
both, of the Ex-Com. I'm fairly sure that between taking care of babies,
making dinner, and dealing with the ice-in circumstances, the choice of a
purple crayon to write "USA Webhost votes for Eliot, s/ Eric", rather than
waste time to find a Bic, or fire up a powered-down PC to start MSWord to
the same absurdly inconsequential end, didn't occure to me as an "antic".
The younger of my two autistic boys stims on crayons, so they are literally
everywhere. I'm convinced that Tim Ruiz is writing about me, my vote, USA
Webhost.
I don't think the issue here is "maturity" or "childishness", I think it is
rules vs process, and as a side-effect, new-registrar, and/or small company
exclusion, by indirect cost -- not the dues, rather the gymnastics required
to vote.
It is painful to have one, or both of the Ex-Com pull votes out of the
rubbish on either side of failed fax connections, but to cure this by
ignoring attempts or failures, is worse.
