- Subject: Another Internet Bubble Pops: Tuvalu's .TV Deal
The famous 50 million deal to market the ccTLD ".TV" to media moguls has
turned into a fantasy, as was much expected by many of us in the ccTLD
community. Instead, the Canadian company who came up with the scheme to
sell .TV domain names for $1,000 and up, at open auction, to the highest
bidders (not first come, first served), claims to have only raised
CA$200,000 from 200 customers.
I expect that amount is also a gross overstatement.
