It disturbs me that I am seeing this approach from the operators of
ccTLDs who have a vested interest in the limitation of choice in the
TLD space. As the only alternatives to com/net/org, registries like
.nu would stand to benefit greatly from the enforcement of
restrictions on these TLDs, and from the non-availability of new TLDs.
Also, it should be noted that once the cat is out of the bag, there is
really no reason to put it back. Any attempt to do so will he so
strongly resisted by the "REAL" internet community that it would be a
nightmare.

Competition breeds innovation. Choice provides the users with the
best possible way of guaranteeing service levels, and a truly consumer
oriented market.
