Re: [wg-review] [IDNH]Membership criteria

Thank you Joanna. I have way too much on my plate and whoever invented this
email process as the proper method for discussion, well lets just say I
would never hire them to do any work for me in organizing anything. There
have been technological breakthroughs besides email. Like forums.

Maybe they haven't seen them yet.

Ok. Actually, The IDNO page I went to that describes their criteria for
Membership looks to me well thought out. I have only one concern where the
main criteria is the ownership of a domain name and I don't have a solution
for it. Any large company could register hundreds or even thousands of
personal domain names for their employees at about $6 per name. They could
effectively control the majority through this method. Some think something
like that would never occur. It could and is a very real possibility to
consider.

Is there any method of detecting this is happening? None I can see. What can
be done if it does happen? Nothing I can see.

Therefore I think the system used there is the best possible criteria for
membership.

More recruitment and Public Education on these topics is what is needed. As
large as all those currently represented in the DNSO, NC, and ICANN, there
should already have been more education about this entire process. That is
what leads many to believe there are way too many things being decided
behind closed doors. The effort so far to educate or include IDNH in this
process has been minimal at best and appears to have been intentional by
those with influence within these organizations.

The criteria for Membership is fine. The recruitment and education of more
people to become involved is what is needed.
