This is quite untrue, as anyone who has been following the
controversies between, for example, Dot CX and the Australian
Commonwealth, are aware. Indeed, ICANN's major offensive at the
moment is to gain hegemony over the ccTLD registries by means of
unilateral dicta from national governments, basing their claims on
the GAC Principles.
If YJ Park is not cognizant of this, Peter de Blanc certainly should
be. And it would be useful if the members of this were likewise
aware of it. After all, of what use is the work of this WG if it is
not integrated into the present efforts of ICANN to control the
ccTLDs, which account for a majority of domain names outside the
U.S.?
