My vote is NO. There is no evidence of cheating or multiple false
identities at this moment and the mechanism for voluntary disclosure in the
Booth exists.
Also: a voting period shorter than 4 days will disenfranchise WG members.
As a service to this list , I have put the underlying question up in the
Booth.
1. should voters be compelled to identify themselves? (without disclosing
how they voted)
BTW, the questions do not end there: 1. The WG-subscription process does
not force members to give a name, and many don't.
2. *How* can voters be compelled to give their correct name?
I do think these questions are time consuming "ratholes" and the discussion
is better spent on concrete proposals to improve representativity of all
stakeholders in the DNSO.
If listmembers care to vote in the Booth, this on-list vote can be taken
offlist.
With permission of the Chair, I can generate new passwords to include
newcomers.
