If I understand the question, let me comment and add in a bit of
perspective:  As a member of a number of associations (both U.S. and
International, and in some cases, country specific), I provide regular
updates to the committees with relevant responsibility.  That  is the
standard practice for industry representatives who are members of
associations.

In answer to the question on outreach to association members

Within trade associations the responsibility to outreach to members is
handled by the secretariats of those associations. It would be inappropriate
for others to interfere. In my own case, I discuss ICANN issues within my
association by e-mail on a regular basis. Like many associations we are only
involved in ICANN because our members our interested and so are actively
consulted.
