[ga] ICANN considers anonymous registration

All assembly members,

The following article is very interesting in light of Marc's latest
post regarding ICANN and it's Root servers Domain Name(s).

http://www.zdnet.com/zdnn/stories/news/0,4586,2800615,00.html

Excerpt:

"The registration of pseudonyms is also not allowed, but registrants
wishing to conceal
their identity can buy a domain name under a third-party name, such as
that of
their lawyer."

Yet ICANN and/or the IANA and Verisign/NSI as well can use pseudonyms
is allowed or at least not corrected. See:
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga/Arc08/msg00286.html
To wit: "Registrant:
      Root Name Servers (ROOT-SERVERS-DOM)
         VeriSign Global Registry Services

         Herndon, VA 20170-5142
         US

         Domain Name: ROOT-SERVERS.NET

Seems to me that "Registrant:
      Root Name Servers (ROOT-SERVERS-DOM)
         VeriSign Global Registry Services
         505 Huntmar Park Drive
         Herndon, VA 20170-5142

         Domain Name: ROOT-SERVERS.NET

         Technical Contact:

hostmaster@NSIREGISTRY.NET
            a division of VeriSign
            505 Huntmar Park Drive
            Herndon, VA 20170-5142
            US
            703-742-0400
            Fax - 703-742-5427
         Billing Contact:

            703-742-4777
            Fax- - 281-447-1160

Seems to me that "accounting@IDNAMES.COM" and "iana@IANA.ORG"
as well as "hostmaster@NSIREGISTRY.NET" would likely qualify as
pseudonyms for E-Mail contact addresses. As such, it seems that one
set of rules applies for the ICANN functionaries, NSI/Verisign and
its clones, and yet another applies for everyone else.

Regards,
