Are we talking about the same CIRA? Also speaking as a CIRA accredited
registrar, I've not experienced or heard the same thing. I can't beleive
that things have changed that drastically since you were the CIRA
chairman and your CFO was also on the board.
The only issue that I've heard of where recusals were a problem was with
last years first vote on price decreases where some took the position
that registrar recusals were necessary because registrars stood to
benefit. I, not a board member, took the position that then everyone
should have to recuse themselves as registrants that would stand to gain.
Given the historical friction between you and CIRA, I'm not surprised to
hear these things coming from you, but I doubt that few, if any, of the
leading ca-registrars would see things the same way...
