It is being decided by the WG members - Joop is running the election
from his polling booth and we will find out the results in a day or
so. The four candidates have merely swapped some ideas (co-operation
instead of competition - what the Net is about).
I have to say I am getting very concerned about the lack of clear
direction from the Names Council to this working group. I am not
criticising any individual but we have had contradictory messages a
number of times from different NC members.
Theresa's last post seemed to have made it very clear that our
deadline is still the 15th of January and no extension has been
granted, despite being told earlier we have had an extension. I have
e-mailed Theresa directly to try and ascertain if there is some
flexibility there. If there is not it really seems rather a waste of
some good ideas and effort.
The fact we also got contradictory terms of reference at the beginning
and we have had the Xmas holidays all combine to a set of
circumstances which are almost impossible to overcome. However we
will try our best.
