There are always those that display unacceptable behaviour, be it in f2f or
online forums. I disagree that there is no feedback control in cyberspace.
There is feedback and also control on both an individual and a forum level. The
process is a little slower as the communication is not in real time for the
majority but it is still valid. In mailing lists especially we can implement
mechanisms to provide control. Moderation and the list rules can be very
effective.

It is also a fact that where behaviour is unacceptable, the views held by such
individuals tends to be discounted. So such behaviour is self-defeating.

As for unfulfilled anger, anger as an emotion may be evoked by any number of
issues. Personally, I tend to get angry when I continue to see personal views
expressed as fact when it is easily proven they are incorrect. Or where issues
are blown out of all proportion to support a particular agenda.

But I do agree, online forums and organisations need to take into account how
online communications are conducted and establish procedures for dealing with
them. The GA, WG-Review and the DNSO are all affected by such communication
issues. This is also an issue the WG-Review could make recommendations to the
DNSO on.
